I thought that I would share some information about an event I came across being held in Las Vegas, NV in January that I thought was interesting and could prove to be very informative. The course agenda seems to cover a lot of questions that I am asked by our customers about NAND based -- Solid State Drives. This "SSD tutorial" may answer some of those questions.
It is presented by Knowledge Tek as a precursor to the Storage Visions 2011 conference on Monday January 3rd at 1:30 PST. It also seems to be offered at a reasonable cost considering that the same company offers a similar class for over $1500.00.
Pre-Conference Tutorial: Solid-State Storage – The Fundamentals (presented by KnowledgeTek) See Web site for complete information: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/954349485
High Level Course Outline from the web site:
1. SSD or Flash Cache?
2. Architecture of flash chips and SSDs
3. Overcoming the Problems of Flash and SSDs
4. Future Trends
