Is there an new board definition file coming available for 12.3?

12.2 XBD file for this board will work with 12.3 release.

What about support for AXI? Are there or will there be reference designs?

Have people tried AXI based designs on this board?

I loaded the XBD files into EDK 12.3 and chose AXI, but only the S6 and V6 Xilinx boards show up, which doesn't give me great confidence.

BSB based AXI designs for S6 and V6 boards would require a new XBD file (XBD2). The XBD2 files for the Avnet S6 and V6 boards will be posted to our web site when the 12.4 software is released. Currently, there are a couple of issues with the 12.3 AXI based BSB designs, Xilinx will be releasing a patch (via an Answer Record) for the 12.4 release to fix these issues. Once this patch along with the 12.4 software is released, I will test the XBD2 files for our S6 and V6 boards and post them to our web site. The 12.4 is scheduled to be released on 12/14, I will post the files a couple of days after that.

The 12.4 release has been delayed until 12/21. Attached is the 12.3 AXI XBD2 file for Avnet S6LX150T board, please unzip the file to the /board/Avnet folder of the EDK install directory (this assumes you have already install the 12.2 XBD files for the Avnet boards). I will update and post this file to our web site when the 12.4 is released. In the meantime, you can use the attached file with 12.3.
