I am focusing both video data acquisition / processing and Ethernet communication and wonder which kit should be the right to select.
AFAIK the Industrial Ethernet Kit comes with an expansion board having two additional dual speed 10/100 PHYs only, whereby the board itself already seems to have triple 10/100/1000 speed. Since I need GigE and like to perform HDMI / VGA, I tend to use the Video-Kit.
Q1: Will I though be able to load a reference design for the Ethernet? Or is something like this already included ?
I am mainly interested to save work by using reference designs, and would have the need of HDMI, DDR3 and as said Ethernet 1000.

As long as you just need standard Ethernet, then the IVK is your best solution. The Ethernet PHYs on the ISMNET module included in the IEK are targeted for use with real-time Ethernet protocols such as EtherCAT, Profinet, Powerlink, etc. There are networking example designs on the Avnet DRC for the LX150T board (http://www.em.avnet.com/spartan6lx150t-dev). Navigate to this webpage and click on "Support Files and Downloads" and look for any of the Networking Performance or LwIP Applications designs.
