I'm trying to create a new project for ISE Project Navigator 13.4. For Evaluation Development Board I don't see an option for Spartan-6 LX16. I see Spartan-6 SP601 and SP605. Are either of these close enough?

Hi Gary,
If you download the 13.3 XBD files and follow the instructions of the readme file within the archive, this should give you the option to select the Spartan-6 LX16 board from the New Project Wizard dropdown menu.
The XBD files can be downloaded from this page:
https://www.em.avnet.com/Support%20And%20Downloads
If this does not work out for you, the Spartan-6 SP601 board option should be similar enough to Spartan-6 LX16 board for you to get a new project started.
Regards,
-Kevin

Hi, professor. Hi everybody.
I have the same problem. I'm trying to create a blank FPGA project for LX16 dev board.
The Xilinx Platform Studio implicating Microblaze or other CPU necessarily.
But when i was using Altera dev board there was a blank project with defined ports and complete instance.
And i had the opportunity to create my full custom design.
So, how or where can i get the same template for Spartan-6 FPGA on LX16?
Thanks,
Sour M.

The XBD (Xilinx Board Description) file that Professor references is the template that you can then use in Xilinx Base System Builder to easily build up a system. For step-by-step details as to how you do this, you could refer to the tutorials posted for the Spartan-6 LX9 MicroBoard or refer to the Xilinx "Concepts, Tools, and Techniques" tutorial. You can find this at www.xilinx.com, and here is a link to the 13.4 version:
http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_man
If you are doing business with a local Avnet branch, you could also request assistance or a demo from your local Avnet FAE.
