It appears that more and more OEMs are using USB connectors in non-USB applications. I am sure people see low-cost, widely available connectors as being alternatives for their specific uses. However, this can cause reliability issues and confusion in the marketplace.
If someone sees a USB connector and they get RS-232 or Etherrnet, not very good. Notice what the USB-IF says on the topic. Very interesting . . . Comments?
